By booking your place at The Writer’s Residence, you agree to the following terms and conditions. We have created these to ensure clarity, fairness, and the best possible experience for all our guests.

Bookings & Payments

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your space.

  • Full payment is due six (6) weeks before the start of the retreat.

  • If full payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and retain your deposit.

Cancellations & Refunds

  • All payments, including the deposit, are non-refundable.

  • If you need to cancel, we will do our best to resell your space. However, a resale is not guaranteed, and refunds will not be issued unless your space is successfully rebooked.

  • We highly recommend obtaining personal travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

Responsibility & Liability

  • The Writer’s Residence accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, or theft of personal possessions during your stay.

  • Guests are responsible for their own wellbeing. We accept no liability for any injuries, illnesses, allergic reactions, or accidents that occur during the retreat.

  • It is the guest’s responsibility to inform us of any allergies, dietary needs, or health concerns prior to arrival. While we take care in meal preparation, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Damages

  • Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the property, furnishings, or surroundings.

  • If damage occurs, you agree that the cost of repair, replacement, or additional cleaning may be charged to your card on file.

Conduct

  • The Writer’s Residence is a place of stillness, presence, and respect.

  • No alcohol or recreational drugs are permitted during the retreat. This ensures the wellbeing of all guests and maintains the integrity of the experience.

  • Guests must treat the space, staff, and fellow attendees with kindness and consideration.

  • We reserve the right to remove any guest without refund if their behaviour is disruptive, harmful, or in violation of these terms.

Changes

  • We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the retreat schedule, accommodation, or experiences if necessary due to weather, availability, or unforeseen circumstances.

Acceptance

By reserving your space, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
